Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Our Beginnings
Our Beginnings
Taking The City Ministry was birthed from Acts 8:5-8.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
And there was great joy in that city.
In the year 1997, God placed on Pastor Gill's heart to start radio ministry. In that radio, the ministry "Taking the City ministry" was birthed forth. Through obedience Pastor Gill started the manifestation of the ministry in his home. With only himself, his wife, and two daughters. In the family room, every Wednesday at 7 pm and Sunday at 10 am bible study and service were held. Shortly after visitors that would come maxed the capacity of the family room, living room, and kitchen areas. Due to obedience God's favor fell. Taking the City Ministry purchased church busses, and vehicles and opened a building for services. Then it was announced in 2007 a place to call home over 12,000 square ft. of blessings. God provided and is still doing so.
In May 2004, we started “Bringing It to the Neighborhood Events,” which is held once a month during spring, summer, and fall months in various neighborhoods.
Our ministry has also fed the residents in a men’s shelter once a month and served three nursing homes twice a month. We visited hospital patients twice a month as well. Up to this day, we continue to help the homeless, families, and hurricane victims.
We work closely with the city of Rock Hill and meet with the Weed and Seed Committee. Our ministry also conducts a Christmas outreach to uplift the spirit of the community during the holiday season every year at the Police Substation on Hagin/ Fewell St. Rock Hill, SC.
Zechariah 4:10
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
We are excited to see the great move of God in our services and outreaches as well as in others!
